South African dictionaries
Oxford University Press Southern Africa has had an established local dictionary publishing programme since 1978. This programme has grown significantly since then to incorporate a wide range of bilingual and multilingual dictionaries in South Africa’s official languages.
Oxford’s world-renowned range of English Dictionaries is based on the largest language research programme in the world. Our dictionaries are continuously refreshed to keep abreast of the changes and developments in the English language.
Bilingual & Multilingual Dictionaries
From Grades 1 to 12, Oxford University Press has a bilingual or multilingual dictionary to suit each and every learning stage. These essential books of knowledge are now even more important to learners with the release of CAPS.
Whether at school or in your home, an Oxford Thesaurus is an essential tool to have close at hand. Thesaurus is the Greek word for ‘treasure’ and when you own an Oxford Thesaurus, that is what you have, a treasure trove of the language, with all its richness and variety.
