A family on a sailing trip get stranded on an island after crashing into a large rock. All their electronic equipment stops working and they hear an eerie cry coming over the sea. The parents are captured by the hostile islanders. The son Kit, and Ula (an outcast island girl) set out to find the parents and end up fleeing from the islanders and the destruction of the island.
I enjoyed the book as there was a mixture of adventure and action, though the beginning section was quite boring and the book was difficult to get into at first.
This book is suitable for 13 year old boys and girls, because it was filled with action, romance and tons of emotions (good for girls). Younger readers might find it hard to grasp the concept of the story.
This is a well rounded book and a good job by the author. On a scale of 0 – 10 (10 being brilliant), I give it an eight.
