Pippi was a nine year old orphan who lived in Villekulla Cottage, with her little monkey, named Mr. Nelson.

She was strong, because she could lift her horse. Her two friends are Tommy and Annika who lives next door in a cottage. Pippi is very adventurous. When her father was alive she used to travel with him on a sailboat. Pippi is a very funny character, she dresses funny, she bakes eggs funny and she rolls biscuits on the floor. Her friends like her because of these crazy things. One day she climbed on top of the roof when the police wanted to take her to a children’s home. When she attended school for the first time, she made some funny remarks. She always gets up to mischief, one day she climbed into a hollow tree trunk and wanted her friends to do the same. She tried to fly one day and fell so hard that her two friends started to cry.

She threw her own birthday party, dressed in her father’s shirt and shot two holes in the roof. Pippi wanted to be a pirate when she grew up.

I enjoyed the story totally; Pippi is very funny and does daring things. I enjoyed the story a lot; I now want to read all of her adventures.

This book is definitely suited for children of 9 to 10yrs of age.
