Oxford University Press Southern Africa last night won two prestigious awards – Educational Publisher of the Year and Academic Publisher of the Year at the 2010 Annual Sefika Awards ceremony held in Johannesburg.
“The Oxford team is delighted that our focus on raising the bar in the service we offer our booksellers is recognized by booksellers. We appreciate the recognition and it serves as motivation for us to do even better!” said Oxford SA MD Lieze Kotzé.
Voted for by booksellers in recognition of overall excellence in the Academic, Education and Trade fields, the criteria used by booksellers in the selection process include the following:
“We aim to add value at every step of providing educational textbooks to South African learners, students, teachers and lecturers – whether this is through our publishers who commission curriculum-compliant material or our sales people or our back office staff in Customer Services and Warehouse. These awards prove that we have been able to do just that,” said Kotzé.
It is the third time in five years that Oxford has won the Academic Publisher of the Year award. In 2009, Oxford also won the Publisher of the Year Award.
